WHAT PEOPLE SAY

When an eating disorder took over my life, Kristine was perhaps the biggest reason why I was able to take back control of my life and physical/mental health. I cannot thank her enough. Kristine is the very best person you want to seek out if you are struggling with food/eating/body challenges.

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) Treatment In Scottsdale, AZ

Binge eating will often 'feel good' in the moment, only to be immediately followed by feelings of guilt, shame, and a loss of control.

Despite being the most common eating disorder, BED is under-diagnosed and under-treated. Binge eating disorder is not simply overeating or a lack of willpower. Typical approaches to treating BED tend to focus on weight loss and calorie deprivation which can actually make the eating disorder worse. Newer and more effective approaches for treating a binge eater will address the whole person; socially, cognitively, behaviorally, and emotionaly. A CEDRD can play an essential role in detecting and treating BED. In medical nutrition therapy sessions you will learn to love and accept your body and yourself, while working through the issues that brought you to use food emotionally. Eliminating dieting and learning how to regulate emotional responses to triggers for binge eating will be essential to your recovery.

It is important to recognize that it will take time, dedication, emotional, and physical support to recover from binge eating disorder and emotional eating. Allowing time to feel sad or lonely is appropriate; eating to fill that emotional time is a response that only camouflages and temporarily soothes your unwanted emotions. I understand how hard it can be to reach out for help when you struggle with binge eating, compulsive overeating, and emotional eating. At the core of almost every binge eater is someone just yearning for emotional fulfillment. I get it and I will help you to get there.
